ENFP: The Campaigner

ENFPs (extraverted, intuitive, feeling, and perceiving) are warm and passionate, readily helping other people express and explore their creativity. They are people-focused, and they tend to enjoy the enthusiasm of content creation, generating new ideas and engaging in activities with others. ENFPs are typically expressive in quick-witted in their communication, readily employing their humour to great effect. With their original imagination, ENFPs will likely have a strong creativity focus and artistic core. Art's ability to express and create is appealing to the ENFP, who likely imagines it in one form or another.

principles

ENFPs are often enthusiastic, charming, charismatic, and visionary. These people tend to have excellent communication skills, high empathy, and a genuine interest in others. The ENFP personality type describes dreamers who can imagine anything except living in a routine and rigid structure. Craving freedom and variety, this personality type yearns to explore their world creatively.

Although quickly excited by new ideas and potential, ENFPs may struggle with finishing what they start. Other common challenges include oversensitivity, overanalysing, and disorganisation.

In general, all ENFPs display these traits:

• They are typically excellent communicators, storytellers, or negotiators

• They attract others with their zest and enthusiasm towards their work

• They prefer to engage with others

• They have big dreams for the future

strengths

enthusiasm

The enthusiasm of an ENFP comes naturally and is infectious to those around them. It can be used to garner support for a new venture, encourage someone to pursue their dream, or rally for a cause. The enthusiasm created by the ENFP is genuine and draws the attention of all other personality types.

vision

ENFPs have an excellent picture of the future. Seeing the full possibility in people and situations allows them to postulate grand ideas of what could be possible with today's untapped potential.

creative problem solver

The ENFP is a creative problem solver. Their ever-present optimism and the ability to see potential in a situation positions them to seek and find unseen solutions to vexing problems.

judge of character

The ENFP usually has a great read on other people because of how easily they can empathise with another perspective. While many ENFPs can't do certain kinds of tasks, they can often find others that will be an excellent fit for the areas in which they lack.

weaknesses

disorganised

The ENFP has difficulty sticking to overly rigid structures. Their environment can sometimes be seen by other types as organised chaos where items are strewn about in what appears to be a disorder but makes sense to the more abstract mind of the ENFP.

determination

ENFPs dream big, and often. They derive satisfaction from conceptualising a new idea, but not necessarily the actual execution, particularly if it would involve tedious or repetitive work.

oversensitive

The ENFP tends to have an overeliance on the approval of others. They are the champion of others everywhere they go, and there can be a disproportionate impact on their self-satisfaction if their efforts are not accepted or reciprocated.

unfocused

Variety is the spice of life for the ENFP. As work or relationships begin to dull, the ENFP is inclined to be distracted by a new object or interest for their attention.

friendships

ENFPs are equal opportunity engagers and usually have a wide circle of friends or several niche circles of friends. While the ENFP is inherently bored with small talk, their mastery of language will steer the conversation towards more intriguing topics. They seek genuine connection from everyone they meet, and they do this by asking about the drivers and motivations of others. Their friends are usually fun and exciting people that can embrace the present moment. It's friends like these that bring the most variety and unexpected fun into their lives. Because the ENFP reads others so well, they can attract extraverts and introverts alike. What makes a best friend to an ENFP is someone willing to dream big with them. Friends of the ENFP will undoubtedly feel that they truly know them, as an ENFP will not hesitate to bare their soul to someone they trust will appreciate the insight.
