1. JAEL – Don’t Hide
Jael is a London based artist and contributes her Nigerian roots in her Afro-R&B new single, ‘Don´t Hide.’ The new single from the beautifully toned singer is about “discovering your true self, amidst the chaos and confusion of life.” After a listen to this, you can check out her last single that also shows off her soulful vocals, ‘Bulletproof’ and her Odyssey EP.
2. Shay – Jolie Go
I’ve been getting into the francophone music scene lately and I’m so happy to have come across Shay. ‘Jolie Go’ is the Belgian/Congolese rapper’s first single of 2023. The music video also presents the correct atmosphere for the song, perfect for the upcoming warm weather!
3. Miamusa – Blame Me
I’d like to thank Tik Tok for this one. I was scrolling and came across this sound from singer, songwriter, and producer from Birmingham (@_miamusa). She has a very Alt/R&B sound and has more music coming later this year I’m excited to hear!
4. Naomi Sharon – Another Life
This year, Naomi Sharon was the first woman to be signed to OVO. Following ‘Another Life’ comes another track ‘Celestial’ about yearning for a man’s attention. The sound of the two tracks are very melodic and reminiscent of Sadé.
